The basement was not dark and dingy like it was a couple of months ago. Now the space was vibrant with electric blue walls and new glossy black floors. The music was blaring so loud you felt bass vibrate your entire body. Usually, this sensation would make you nervous and awkward but the music was not scary it was the strong women you loved listening to in your room late at night. More and more people filled into the space and the instructor, a jacked lady named Erin, came through with a microphone telling everyone to take gloves and helmet
The class kicked your ass but in the best way possible.
While it took you a little to figure out your left hook from your right hook you took to boxing easily. The bass of the music fueled you to keep going even if your arms felt like a complete noodle(and not the good kind). Even if you failed at something you did not feel like the other people in the class were judging you. Due to that you gathered your bearings and really pushed yourself to the limit. Your body was tired but your confidence was soaring!
After the class, a group of people invited you to go to lunch with them at a health bar. Everyone was so friendly and accepted you into their group rather quickly. You laughed and socialized into the late afternoon with them. You even planned a karaoke night! As you walk home your chin is held high, your posture is strong and you feel utterly free. You a glimpse of the sunset as you walk.
The sun glow was exactly what you imagined was going on in your body that second.
You felt in control.
You felt strong.
